Saturday, October 24 | St. Mary Cemetery at Oak Grove

Get ready for a fun fall evening with the Knights of Columbus, Scouts, and SPO of St. Mary! On Saturday, October 24, we’ll gather at the St. Mary portion of Oak Grove Cemetery for a Hallowed Hayride, campfire, and Trunk-or-Treat.

The Hallowed Hayride begins at 6:00pm, followed by Trunk-or-Treat from 6:15–6:45pm.

Families are invited to enjoy the evening together, and parishioners can also help make the event possible by decorating a trunk and handing out candy. Trunks should arrive between 5:30–6:00pm.

A Hayride Through the Stories of Our Faith

The Hallowed Hayride is more than a spooky evening. Along the hayride route, parishioners will bring the stories of our faith to life through several dramatic skits depicting martyrs of the Church. As you travel from scene to scene, you’ll encounter the courage and witness of ordinary men and women who remained faithful to Christ, even when it cost them everything.

It’s a unique way to remember that the saints were real people who faced real challenges—and that their witness continues to inspire us today. The evening offers a chance for families to enjoy some Halloween fun while also learning about the faith of those who came before us.

Warm Someone This Winter

This year’s event also gives us an opportunity to look beyond our own parish community.

From October 3–23, SPO and the Knights of Columbus are collecting donations for Mission Warmth, a nonprofit that provides warming items directly to people experiencing homelessness in Central Ohio. Donations can be dropped off in the School Commons or Parish Vestibule, or brought to the Hallowed Hayride and Trunk-or-Treat on October 24.

Mission Warmth is especially looking for:

  • Heavy winter coats, sizes M–4XL

  • Warm, waterproof men's boots, sizes 8–14

  • Warm, waterproof women's boots, sizes 6–10

  • New heavy socks

  • Warm winter hats

  • Warm, waterproof gloves

  • Sleeping bags

  • 2- or 4-person tents

  • Monetary donations

You can also purchase needed items through the Mission Warmth Amazon Wish List.

Come Have Fun. Come Serve.

Whether you bring your children for the hayride and Trunk or Treat, decorate a trunk, or bring a donation for Mission Warmth, there are plenty of ways to be part of the evening.

Bring some candy. Bring a coat. Bring a friend. And come help make this a night of fun and generosity for our St. Mary community.
