A Sacred Place of Faith, Remembrance and Prayer

St. Mary Catholic Cemetery is a parish operated cemetery nestled in a quiet neighborhood located on the south side of the City of Delaware at 426 S. Sandusky St., Delaware, OH since 1897.

Guided by the teachings of the Catholic Church, our mission is to minister with compassion and profound respect to those who grieve and to the faithful departed. Inspired by our belief in eternal life, we give witness to the doctrines of the resurrection of the body, the communion of saints, and life everlasting—affirming that our faith is perpetual and unbroken by death.

A Sacred Place of Rest, Service, and Prayer

St. Mary Parish, under the auspices of the Diocese of Columbus, has set aside this sacred place for our departed brothers and sisters to be laid to rest as they await the promise of the glorious Resurrection.

-
Our dedicated cemetery staff serve families in a personal, professional, and compassionate manner.
-
We strive to maintain the grounds in a way that preserves the cemetery’s natural beauty and spiritual environment.
-
We view the cemetery as an extension of the Church: a sacred space for remembrance and prayer that reinforces our Catholic faith and traditions.

The purpose of the Catholic cemetery is to provide for the interment or inurnment of Catholics and their family members who are entitled to Christian burial according to the teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. The interment of non-Catholic members of a Catholic family may also be permitted under most conditions, as the Church does not wish to separate in death those who were united in life.
In preserving this sacred space, we are grateful for the volunteers who help maintain the cemetery grounds throughout the year, especially through the spring and fall seasons. We are continually blessed by the many parishioners who respond to the call to serve by sharing their time and talents in meaningful ways. Donations toward ongoing maintenance are always welcome, and we remain deeply grateful to each of our volunteers and supporters.
