Faith, Service, and Community in Action
At St. Mary, we are blessed to witness moments where faith, service, and community come together in meaningful ways. Last weekend, Cara, one of our American Heritage Girls, hosted a Prayer Shawl Ministry event as part of her Pioneer Project. It was a wonderful example of how different generations can come together in service and faith.
Learning and Connecting Across Generations
Parishioners of all ages attended the event. Some were experienced knitters and crocheters, while others were learning for the first time. Cara generously shared her skills, guiding everyone patiently. The result was not only beautiful prayer shawls but also new friendships and intergenerational connections that strengthened our parish community.

Each Stitch Carries Prayer and Hope
Prayer shawls are more than yarn and stitches. Each shawl carries prayers, love, and hope for the person who receives it. This simple act reminds us that God’s care and compassion are always present, and it is one of the ways our parish family extends Christ’s love to those in need.
Join the Ministry
The enthusiasm at the event showed that there is a growing desire for this ministry at St. Mary. If you feel called to join, offer your time and prayers, or simply want to learn how to knit or crochet, we would love to welcome you. Together, we can continue to bring comfort, hope, and God’s love to our parish and beyond.
