An evening of art, fellowship, and support for inclusive ministry came to life at the recent SPICE Paint Party Night at St. Mary Catholic Church.
Participants gathered for a joyful night of painting, laughter, and community, creating a beautiful image of a dove representing the Holy Spirit. The symbol felt especially fitting for an event centered on the gifts of each person and the Spirit at work in our parish community.
The night was filled with enthusiasm, and by all accounts, everyone had a wonderful time. Even a few last-minute registrations helped fill seats, and one attendee shared that he signed up after seeing the invitation in the bulletin, a beautiful reminder that simple invitations matter.
Proceeds from the event supported Special People in Catholic Education (SPICE), a local ministry dedicated to raising awareness of the gifts and needs of persons with disabilities and supporting inclusive Catholic education in schools and parish religious education programs.

Events like this help advance that mission while creating opportunities for fellowship and belonging.
SPICE continues to be a vibrant part of parish life at St. Mary. In addition to monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Teacher’s Lounge, the group helps organize the annual Holiday Craft Bazaar, scheduled this year for Saturday, November 21.
This summer, SPICE will also host a sensory quiet zone during the St. Mary Festival on June 19 and 20 in the courtyard between the parish office and church, helping ensure the festival is welcoming and accessible for all.
We are grateful to everyone who attended, supported the fundraiser, and helped make the evening a success.
Sometimes a simple paintbrush can help paint a bigger picture of community.
