Parish Organizations : Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion have a sacred responsibility of distributing the Body of Christ to members of the parish at weekend Masses and Holy Days.  Extraordinary Ministers are given permission by the Bishop to serve in this capacity. Some Ministers of Holy Communion also take Communion on a regular basis to the sick at Grady Hospital, to Catholic residents at local nursing homes, and to parishioners who are homebound. Ministers of Holy Communion are commissioned by the Bishop and are commissioned for a period of two years. They may be recommissioned.
